Vienna University of Technology – Landscape Department to use FREI.RAUM.NETZ App in student projects

In context of the course unit ‘Introduction to Landscape Architecture’ some 500 5th semester architecture students will be working in teams of three to study a series of 1 km x 1 km quadrants within the City of Vienna. These 20 quadrants, located within key areas of interest for urban development and renewal, have been selected for their particular urban design and open space planning characteristics.

One of the first tasks of the students will be to analyse the challenges and potential of open spaces associated with 'their' quadrants. The FREI.RAUM.NETZ App, which the Landscape Department has helped to develop, will support this process and help focus the students' attention on key aspects of the open spaces relating to how these are perceived and used as well as some of their key ecological and structural characteristics. The course will run during the winter semester from October 2017 to January 2018, LandSense looks forward to attending their final presentations and to get their feedback on the use and significance of the FREI.RAUM.NETZ App for their work.
