IGN France has launched the Guided Campaign in Occitanie Region, France. The campaign is part of the Toulouse Pilot. Thanks to LandSense project, the PAYSAGES web tool was developed.
If you leave in Occitanie Region (ex. Midi-Pyrénées) you are very lucky, this message is for you. If this is not the case, and you don’t know where to spend your next holiday or week-ends, we have an idea for you: In Occitanie, south of France! Look how beautiful it is: Cordes-sur-Ciel, Gouffre de Padirac, and many many others.
What is the goal?
Urban areas are taking up more and more of our landscapes, which negatively affect biodiversity, increases the potential for flooding and leads to higher urban temperatures because of climate change. With PAYSAGES mobile app, you can help us to improve, validate and expand the information we have about land use and land cover, which is critical for monitoring landscape change and how we manage our finite natural resources.
Get involved in landscape monitoring and help the environment! Become a sentinel of the landscape!
Which types of contributions?
Five tasks are proposed and the challenge is to be able to visit different places in Occitanie Region in order to: say if the quarry is active, abandoned or closed, validate the current land use of working in progress and agricultural areas, validate the changes detected by the Change Detection Service, and add new information for buildings.
